                    - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults -

Becoming Catholic:  The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the sacramental process for the pastoral formation and guidance,  aimed at training new members in the Christian life.

These sacramental norms apply to:
  • the unbaptized who are 6 or 7 years of age and older.
  • the baptized uncatechized Catholics who are 6 or 7 years of age and older who were baptized in infancy but celebrated neither Confirmation nor First Holy Communion.
  • the baptized Christians who are 6 and 7 years of age and seek to be received into the full communion of the Catholic Church.
These norms have been in place since 1988 in this diocese and in all the dioceses of the United States of America.

Please call our office to inquire about the RCIA program and becoming Catholic.
